Description:

The Violence and Injury Prevention Program (VIPP) strives to eliminate needless suffering and death from injuries and violence. Includes programs such as programs that teaches older adults to reduce their risk of falling. They also provide information and referrals for the issues of prevention and recovery of brain injury (TBI) in the state of Utah. Finally, VIPP administers the Naxalone (Narcan) treatment program for the reversal of opioid drugs and heroin.

Description

Naloxone (Narcan) is a safe and legal drug that can reverse overdoses from heroin and prescription opioids. Naxolone sites are available to families with individuals in their lives who are at increased risk of experiencing an overdose; Naxolone sites can fill a prescription for emergency purposes only.       Stepping On program; Otago program

      Description

      VIPP offers evidence-based fall prevention program that reduces falls among participants. Stepping On offers older people information, strategies and exercises to reduce falls and increase self-confidence in situations where they are at risk of falling. Classes run 7 weeks. Tai Chi for Arthritis/Health is the practice of ancient exercise of slow relaxed movements to prevent and improve body and life. Ongoing classes. Otago is an individualized exercise program meeting one on one with a physical therapist. Some group exercises also available. This is a 6 month program.
