    Description

    Responsible for long range planning and development within the unincorporated County. Responsibilities are carried out by ensuring that all development complies with adopted Salt Lake County plans, ordinances and building codes. Services include: Business Licensing, Building Permits and Inspections, Code Enforcement, Development Review, Long Range Planning and the County Cooperative Plan.     To be eligible for a business license, individuals must first: register the business name and entity type; obtain a Sales & Use Tax License; obtain an Employee Income Tax Withholding Number; obtain an Unemployment Insurance Employer Identification Number; register with Utah Dept. of Environmental Quality; verify working status of employees; check zoning requirements; obtain a business license.

            Description

            The Mayor's Office of Criminal Justice Initiatives offers an online Expungement Self Screening Tool to assist with individuals seeking to expunge criminal records in Salt Lake County. Expunging a criminal record means that the court orders the history of the case sealed. This includes: records of the arrest, investigation, detention, and conviction, including a verdict or finding of guilty after trial or a guilty plea.
