Description

Provides scholarships for the youth of Native American heritage. Multiple scholarships available yearly. Also provides workshops and seminars, leadership training, youth outreach programs, community development, farming and gardening projects.

Required Documents

Recent photo, one full page letter of intent, proof of Indian heritage, an official tuition billing statement from the applicant's school, an official copy of the applicant's current transcript

Eligibility

Students applying must be enrolled in college, junior college, or technical school, have at least one-quarter Native American blood from a federally recognized tribe and have a cumulative GPA of 2.25 or higher. Applicants are selected to receive scholarships based on economic need or academic achievement.

    American Indian Services Pre-Freshman Engineering Program

    Description

    Provides a six-week course in the summer for students (7th, 8th, and 9th grade) with an interest and aptitude in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. PREP programs are held in Roosevelt, Blanding, and Tuba City.

    Class M - F 8:50 am - 3 pm

    Eligibility

    Students in 7th, 8th, and 9th grade coming from families with income at or below 200% of the federal poverty level. Focus on Native American youth, but will accept any race or nationality that meet income guideline.
