Six County Association of Governments - Fillmore

Provides HEAT assistance program and various other assistance programs for low-income families in the six county region. Services include home rehabilitation loans, government associations, low cost home rental listings, rental deposit and payment assistance, USDA rural home purchase loan program, utility service payment assistance, and a weatherization program.

Rental Deposit Assistance
Description:

Provides rental deposit assistance for adult households who are eligible.

Eligibility:
Individuals who are 125% at or below the federal poverty level.

Home Rehabilitation Loans
Description:

Offers individuals and families low interest loans for the rehabilitation or reconstruction of existing home. Also helps homeowners make home improvements, address accessibility issues, replace older housing stock, reduce overcrowding, update plumbing or electric and address any other type of housing concern.

Individuals and families on or under 80% of area median income

Low Cost Home Rental Listings
Description:

Provides a list of low-cost rental listings in the six county area. Individuals will need to contact the rental companies to see if there are available spaces or to get on a waiting list.

Utility Service Payment Assistance
Description:

Provides HEAT assistance program and various other assistance programs for low-income families in the six county region. For a limited time, those who qualify for rent and utility payment assistance, may also qualify for water payment assistance.

Eligibility:
Total household income at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Level; household is responsible for paying home energy costs; household contains at least one US citizen or legal permanent resident.

Rent Payment Assistance
Description:

Provides one month's rental assistance to individuals and families who are eligible. The program is only available as funding is available. For a limited time, those who qualify for rent and utility payment assistance, may also qualify for water payment assistance.

Eligibility:
Individuals and families who are 125% at or below the federal poverty level. Must have an eviction notice and be able to prove ability to pay future payments. Renter must provide 24% of rental payment, and agency will only provides up to $750 in assistance.\n\nCOVID-19 UPDATE: Must have a combined gross income at or below 100% AMI and have experienced a documented COVID-19 loss of income or financial hardship. Funds can be used for the following expenses incurred from March 1, 2020 - December 30, 2020: Rent, Utilities (water, sewer, electrical, gas) Security Deposits, arrears (payments made for housing assistance over 30 days past due) is allowable for those that didn't receive an unemployment benefit for the months seeking arrearages, late fees.

Weatherization Programs
Description:

Provides low-income individuals and families energy conservation programs which will lessen the impact of the high cost of energy on their household budgets and improve household health and safety.

Eligibility:
Individuals must own their home and be on or under 200% of the federal poverty level. Priority is given to the elderly, disabled and households with children under the age of 6.

USDA Rural Home Purchase Loan Programs
Description:

Provides a rural home purchase loan program through USDA.

Eligibility:
Applicants who do not currently own a home, who meet USDA/Rural development loan qualifications regarding good credit allowable debts, and whose income does not exceed the county's median income.
