Centro de la Familia de Utah - Northern Utah

Ethnic oriented multipurpose center that strengthens the Hispanic family through promoting self sufficiency and education. Hosts Northern Utah CDI Head Start (Community Development Institute Head Start). Services include ethnic advocacy groups, migrant education and navigator programs, classroom aide volunteer opportunities, and English as a second language classes are offered.

Migrant Education Programs
Description:

Offers a variety of educational opportunities for adults in basic education and other family oriented workshops. Targeted specifically for Spanish speaking adults.

Description:

Take Care Utah navigators/certified application counselors are available to help clients understand, apply for, and enroll in health coverage through the Marketplace, Medicaid, and CHIP.

Classroom Aide Volunteer Opportunities
Description:

Volunteer opportunities include work tutoring students, clerical work, helping in the kitchen and maintenance. There are opportunities to take work to complete at home as well.

Eligibility:
Adults 18 years and over; background check may be required for some duties.

Head Start
Description:

A federally funded child development program that provides educational experiences, medical and dental services, nutritional meals, counseling and opportunities for parental involvement to help prepare low-income children and children with disabilities age three to five to enter and succeed in school. Transportation provided.

Children who live in rural areas; At least 51% of family income must come from a family member working in agriculture.

Ethnic Advocacy Groups
Description:

Training programs offered to community groups or organizations that teach best practices to meet the needs of a multi cultural workforce or clientele. Trainings are customized to meet an organization's specific needs. Also does outreach and case management in the community to help migrant families access education and resources.

For those whom at least 51% of family income is from a family member working in agriculture.

Description:

Adult education program that provides native Spanish speaking adults with resources to complete elementary and secondary education.

Spanish speaking adults who work in agriculture seeking assistance with basic education in Box Elder, Cache, or Weber Counties
