Refugee and Immigrant Center - Asian Association of Utah

A nonprofit organization that provides comprehensive services to refugees and immigrants who have recently immigrated to the United States. Services provided include general counseling services, spouse/intimate partner abuse counseling, a human trafficking hotline, substance use disorder education/prevention and counseling, ESL classes, language translation services, court ordered community service site, rent payment assistance, parenting skills classes, youth enrichment programs (afterschool programs), immigrant benefits assistance, refugee resettlement volunteer opportunities, mortgage payment assistance, psychiatric medication management, and computer literacy classes.

Description:

Provides an afterschool program to improve academic performance, build social skills, foster leadership, and provide a safe place for youth. The program partners with schools, non-profits, and community members to provide social, emotional, and academic support. After-school programs are offered at the Sunnyvale Neighborhood Center, Evergreen Junior High School, Olympus High School, and William Penn Elementary.
