Works to bring partners together to build healthy, stable, well-educated communities with a primary focus on promoting early childhood development, helping kids succeed in school, and supporting families in need. Programs include school readiness , home based parenting education, volunteer recruitment/placement, tutoring/ parenting volunteer opportunities, federated giving programs, planning/ coordinating/advisory groups, and proposal/grant writing services. Also offers a Community Disaster Relief Fund for individuals and families affected by local disasters in Northern Utah.

          Description

          Collects turkeys and coats all through November and December that are used to support Catholic Community Services and other local agencies. UWNU also appreciates all holiday gift donations, and especially encourages needs-based gifts such as coats, boots, socks, underwear, and books.           Description

          Welcome Baby is a visitation program where trained volunteer home visitors make monthly visits to new parents in our community.                       Description

                      Welcome Baby is a home visitation program where trained volunteer home visitors make monthly visits to new parents in our community.                           Description

                          The United Partnership Council (UPC) initiative brings community leaders together to address the increasingly concentrated needs of residents in the central city neighborhood. Partners include United Way of Northern Utah, Ogden School District, Weber State University, Ogden City, and Weber County.                             Provides access to a searchable database listing over 90,000 foundations available to the public for the identification of grant possibilities, many of which do not have a public website. Also offers semi-annual grant-writing workshops, direction in finding other local grant-writing classes and workshops, and critical review of grants prior to submission.                                                 Collects backpacks and school supplies donations at the office until through August.                                                 AmeriCorps Education Initiative of Utah (AEIOU)

                                                Description

                                                AmeriCorps Education Initiative of Utah (AEIOU) trains and supports approximately 100 AmeriCorps Members who are responsible for setting up and running tutoring and mentoring programs in over 80 schools around the state of Utah. Members work with administrators, staff, and teachers in schools to determine which children are in need of extra help with reading. Then Members recruit, train and supervise volunteer tutors and mentors to work one on one with each student. COVID-19 UPDATE: Following all CDC and state guidelines.
