Educational Assessment and Student Support Clinic - College of Education

Offers services to individuals with a variety of learning problems, these services include autism therapy and developmental assessments. Services are provided by advanced graduate students under the supervision of university faculty.

Description:

Psychological/ educational evaluations/assessments are designed to provide benefits such as an accurate description of client's cognitive, intellectual, and psychological strengths and weaknesses, treatment planning, and/or school and vocational planning. Evaluations include potential risks as well as benefits and may involve several appointments of several hours each. These appointments generally consist of interviews with the client, parent(s), administration of tests and/or questionnaires, and, when indicated, interviews with school personnel, physicians, or other individuals who can provide helpful information to aid in the evaluation. Evaluations and assessments are provided for both children and adolescents.

Eligibility:
Children and Adolescents with learning disabilities in reading, writing, and/or math, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorders, children with head trauma or other neurological conditions affecting cognitive and academic functioning, children with psychological or behavioral disorders.

Fees:
Payment is due at the time of service, and the clinic does not bill or accept insurance payments. If you are unable to afford these fees, you may petition the Clinic Director for reduced fees, or a payment plan.

Includes diagnostic testing as well as therapy. Therapy may include behavioral interventions, individual therapy with children and adolescents, parent training, group and individual social skills training, academic planning, and consultation with the school regarding a student's educational plan.
