Children's Justice Center - South Valley

Provides coordinated services for children and their families during the investigative process of child abuse complaints, including crime victim support, and child abuse medical evaluations via Primary Children's Medical Center staff that are housed on-site. Related volunteer opportunities are available—forensic interviews in child-friendly interview rooms with trained interviewers.

Crime Victim Support
Description:

Provides coordinated services for children and their families during the investigative process of child abuse complaints and advocacy services. The children as well as the parents and guardians receive support services and connections to community-based services. Services provided include crisis intervention, advocacy, referrals to trauma-trained therapists, victim financial assistance, and an onsite medical clinic.

Eligibility:
Children ages 17 and under and their family members who are involved in an investigation of child abuse and are not the alleged offender. Adult victims with disabilities are also served.

Child Abuse Medical Evaluations
Description:

Provides specialized medical exams via Primary Children's Hospital - Safe and Healthy Families Program, who are staffed in-house.

Eligibility:
Children ages 17 and under and their family members who are involved in an investigation of child abuse and are not the alleged offender. Adult victims with disabilities are also served.

Description:

Volunteer opportunities include event volunteering, special projects, and some light-duty administrative work.
