Youth Impact

Exists to positively impact the lives of at-risk youth by nurturing their emotional, physical, and social needs in year-round mentor program. Youth enrichment programs include adult/child mentoring programs, youth job development, sports equipment and arts/crafts donation programs, also related volunteer opportunities.

Description:

Open recreation program runs year-round and offers a wide variety of activities so every participant who enters the program can find activities that fit their talents and inclinations.

Eligibility:
Children must reside within the Ogden School District boundaries, attend school on a daily basis, and have passing grades. Agency's intent is to work primarily with youth from 4th grade through high school.
Service Hours:
Office hours: M - F 8 am - 5 pm; Program hours: 2 - 6:30 pm; Summer 9 am - 3:30 pm

Always welcomes volunteers and mentors in many different capacities, no matter how much time available. Volunteer Orientations are held on a weekly basis. Orientations generally last 45 minutes.

Eligibility:
All volunteers must attend an orientation. Short-term volunteers (same day or any following scheduled day of program) can begin after orientation and will be accompanied by staff member. Long-term volunteers must pass background check.

High school aged participants receive help with resumes, interviewing skills, job placement coaching, and have visits from local businesses/ organizations to discuss job opportunities.

Eligibility:
Children must reside within the Ogden School District boundaries, attend school on a daily basis, and have passing grades. Agency's intent is primarily for Jr. High and High School-aged youth.

Intake Procedure:
Paper applications can be picked up in the office in the months of April, August, and December. Applications must be filled out completely to request a place in the program. No waiting list placements are taken over the phone.
