A center for independent living providing services that promote and enhance independent living for seniors and people with disabilities. Home barrier evaluation/removal services, mileage reimbursements, advocacy, aging and disability resources, assistive technology equipment loans, medical equipment and supplies, independent living skills instruction, disability related sports, disability rights groups, specialized information and referral, and related volunteer opportunities.

Description:

Provides services that promote and enhance independent living for all people with disabilities. These services include advocacy for individuals and for systematic changes, assistance in obtaining and maintaining assistive technology equipment, independent living skills training, recreational services, and information and referral for people with disabilities.

Eligibility:
Seniors or people with physical, cognitive, visual, or other disabilities.

Description:

Assistance in obtaining medical equipment and assistive technology equipment that can increase or maintain one's capabilities, such as wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, canes, hospital beds, shower chairs, Cpap's, low vision aids, lifts, grab bars, ramps, and more. Equipment can be 'checked out' generally for 90 days, or assistance iis available to procure needed equipment permanently when necessary.

A voucher program for seniors and persons with disabilities. Vouchers allow clients to arrange rides to medical appointments with a driver of their choice (friends, family, neighbors) who are then reimbursed for the mileage by UTA.

Weber or Davis County residents with physical, cognitive, visual, or other disabilities.
