The Mayor's Office of Criminal Justice Initiatives offers an online Expungement Self Screening Tool to assist individuals seeking to expunge criminal records in Salt Lake County. Expunging a criminal record means that the court orders the history of the case sealed. This includes records of the arrest, investigation, detention, and conviction, including a verdict or finding of guilty after trial or a guilty plea.

Works together with commercial and home-based business owners to develop a strong and sustainable community as well as with new and existing business owners to ensure business licenses are issued in a timely manner. Services provided include business license ordinances, business license analysis, service delivery strategies, short term work programs, and day-to-day business license management.

Provides independent and objective assessments designed to add value and improve the County's operations. Based on the assessments makes recommendations or suggestions to improve the protection of county assets, compliance with county policies, strength of internal controls, and efficiency and effectiveness of the operation of county programs.

Collaborates and supports Salt Lake County regional resilience and disaster recovery programs. Also leads personal and organizational emergency preparedness for the Salt Lake County Government.
