Utah County Children's Justice Center

Serves children and families who are experiencing the crisis and chaos that comes with the disclosure of significant physical or sexual abuse of a child by providing child abuse counseling, child abuse medical evaluations, and child abuse reporting/emergency response.

Description:

Provides coordinated services for children and their families during the investigative process of child abuse complaints, including: crisis intervention, forensic interviews in child-friendly interview rooms, and trained interviewers. Individuals do not self refer; must contact DCFS or Law Enforcement first.

Eligibility:
Children who have suffered abuse and are going through child abuse investigation.
Service Hours:
M - F 8 am - 5 pm
Intake Procedure:
If there is a suspected case of child abuse, Division of Child and Family Services must be contacted first. The DCFS caseworker assigned to the family will then meet with the family at the Children's Justice Center for abuse investigation and all other services.

Description:

Service that responds to reports of child abuse or neglect. Services include assessment of the initial referral, assignment of an appropriate response time, consultation with the family to determine the nature of the problem and do initial case planning, and emergency placement services if the child is removed from the family by the police.
