Specific services offered include legal counseling, a lawyer referral service, addressing lawyer complaints, legal representation, and specialized information and referral.

Legal Representation
Description:

Provides pro bono legal services to those who qualify.

Eligibility:
People who earn less than 125% of the poverty line. An income calculator is available on the website.

Intake Procedure:
Apply to the website. After the application is received, the program forwards the issue to lawyers who provide free legal representation.

Specialized Information and Referral
Description:

Acts as a first stop for clients looking for a free, reduced-cost, private attorney, or self-prepare legal resources, clinics, online tools, hotlines, reduced-rate options, and locating a private attorney.

Lawyer Referral Services
Description:

Provides an online lawyer referral service. Allows the client to search by criteria such as reduced rates, legal categories, attorney name, and licensed paralegal practitioners.

Legal Counseling
Description:

Provides no-cost, over-the-phone legal counseling. the program connects the client with a lawyer for up to 30 minutes to discuss a legal issue.

Legal Associations
Description:

Utah State Bar is Utah's primary legal association.

COVID-19 Update: The Utah Law and Justice Center is closed but will be staffed M - F from 9 am - 4 pm. For access to the building, call the main number and the receptionist will come to the door. Photo ID will be required to enter for tracking purposes. Clients are encouraged to use online services. Following all CDC and state guidelines.
