People Helping People - Weber

Teaches low-income individuals, with a focus on women, reach their full earning potential in the workplace. The program is offered in 4 phases and is self-paced.
Services include career development, volunteer opportunities, job readiness and a job assistance center.

Description:

Volunteers help clients gain self-confidence and succeed in the workplace by sharing workplace experiences and knowledge. Employers are invited to employ and invest in PHP clients by attending regular Employer 'Meet and Greets'.

Eligibility:
Welcomes career-minded individuals who can share their knowledge and successful workplace experiences with others. PHP partners with employers who offer entry level positions with opportunity for raises and promotions, in-house training and tuition reimbursement, and benefits packages and retirement plans.
Service Hours:
M, W 9 am - 5 pm; Tu, Th12 noon - 8 pm

Eligibility:
Primary focus is working with single mothers and low-income women 18 years and older, and anyone regardless of gender, or marital status. Participants must read, write, and speak English proficiently, possess or be working toward GED or high school diploma, and eligible to work in the United States. Weber and Davis Counties are the targeted coverage areas, but participants from surrounding areas are welcome and encouraged to come.
