Provides services to individuals with disabilities including advocacy, an aging and disability resource center. assistive technology equipment listings and loans, comprehensive disability related employment programs, Independent living skills instruction, nursing home transition financing program, peer to peer networking, specialized information and referral, and supported living services for adults with disabilities.

Description:

Provides general mental health counseling along with long term support to minimize confusion, enhance individual choice, and support informed decision-making in accessing long term support services in the community.

Consumer Advocacy involves center staff working with individuals to obtain necessary support service from other community agencies.
Community Systems Change Advocacy involves staff, board members and volunteers initiating activities to advocate social and political change for individuals with disabilities.

Offers work incentive counseling, skills testing, resume writing, job search and placement assistance, and post-employment services.

Eligibility:
Individuals with disabilities who are receiving SSI or SSDI. Must be 18-64 years old. Ability 1st Utah Employment Services will determine whether or not a client is a good candidate.

Provides students with disabilities ages 14-21 opportunities to explore career interests, improve workplace skills, and obtain work experience. 13-week development class is required for all participants.
