Provides information and assistance to low-income people regarding nutritional programs (Food Stamps/Snap), welfare rights assistance, advocacy, and related volunteer opportunities.

Description:

Provides volunteer opportunities to the community. Opportunities include interviewing individuals who have used programs such as SNAP, WIC, school meals, and summer food programs. The client experiences gathered are then shared with local officials. Volunteers also assist clients in completing SNAP applications.

Answers program questions and assists eligible households to complete the application for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as food stamps

Eligibility:
Income guidelines apply to those who qualify for food assistance programs.

Please call for information. Does not accept walk-ins. The applications for SNAP are processed by the Department of Workforce Services. However, UAH can assist clients with completing the application.
