Conducts campaigns which encourage volunteers to donate blood to ensure that blood supplies remain at safe levels; provide information about dates, times and locations where donations can be made; and schedule appointments for people who agree to donate.

Provides help to military personnel to stay in touch with families following the birth of a child, death or serious illness of a family member or other family emergency.

Assists veterans, active military and their families in finding needed resources and support services. May refer to other agencies as necessary.

Provides immediate, short-term disaster relief assistance to victims of disasters and emergencies such as house and apartment fires, natural disasters, mass transit accidents, hazardous materials incidents, and community emergencies.

Recruits, trains and deploys volunteers and Red Cross services to community agencies and disasters.

Provides a central location to donate in case of local emergency or natural disaster.

Provides information on how to prepare for a disaster for families, schools, and workplaces.

Provides temporary emergency shelter for individuals and families who have been displaced by a house fire or natural disaster.

Provides a communication network which enables the general public to obtain information about the circumstances of relatives and friends who are in an area within the U.S. where a major disaster or wide-spread emergency has occurred. Also included are disaster survivor registries that allow individuals who are alive following a disaster to post their name and medical condition for access by family members and friends; or to leave voice messages providing information about their circumstances, their current location and how to reach them.

Provides and installs smoke alarms and fire alarms.
