Box Elder County Government

Provides administration over a diversified range of services throughout the county such as property tax rebate information, crime victim support, and volunteer recruitment/placement. Houses government departments/offices which are provided in the unincorporated areas of the County, such as the auditor and recorder offices.

Crime Victim Support
Description:

Helps injured person and their families receive access to the services they need to address and overcome their victimization. Advocates can assist with writing a victim impact statement and make referrals.

Eligibility:
Residents of Box Elder County that have been victims of an assault, theft, identity theft, burglary, domestic violence, sexual abuse, or other violent crimes.

County Auditor Offices
Description:

Responsible for administering the County's property tax system. Accepts tax relief applications no later than September 1 each year, and auctions surplus Box Elder County equipment, and furniture.

Property Tax Rebate Information
Description:

There are five different tax relief programs available for Box Elder County property owners. Applicants may apply for more than one.

Eligibility:
Blind (certified legally blind), Veteran with a Disability (VA disability rating of at least 10%), Circuit Breaker (widow/widower or aged 66 or older), Indigent (low income, disabled, or other extreme hardship), and Continued Property Tax Exemption Form (tax-exempt organizations).

County Recorder Offices
Description:

Information about recorded documents and property records for all tracts of land in Box Elder County can be found using the online recorder application called Eagle Web. The recorder's Office duties include custodian for all recorded county documents, keep an index of all recorded documents, report all property changes to County Assessor.

Description:

Promotes volunteerism in Box Elder County as a means of fostering increased citizen involvement in the community, enabling public, and private non-profit agencies to enhance or maintain human services.
