Cache County Senior Citizens Center

Social hub and gathering place where active, mature adults can explore a multitude of interests and socialization opportunities. Meals are served daily, home delivered meals are available to homebound, disabled, frail, or at risk, and those who qualify through an assessment. Transportation to and from the center and other necessities are available through the senior ride program; transportation volunteers opportunities available. Medicare information and counseling are also available by appointment.

Senior Centers
Description:

Provides services for older adults including a nutrition program, transportation services, education programs, socialization, and recreation. Log onto the website and access the newsletter for an updated list of events and activities.

Eligibility:
Primarily provided to Cache County residents 60 years of age or older.

Transportation Volunteer Opportunities
Description:

Volunteer opportunities available to help with the Meals on Wheels program and transportation services. Volunteer drivers need to be willing to deliver meals to home bound seniors. Must have own transportation and be willing to volunteer one day a week for one and a half hours. Bus driver volunteers are required in the afternoon to drive seniors home and to medical appointments.

Have a good driving record and pass the background check.

Congregate Meals/Nutrition Sites
Description:

Serves nutritious lunch, on weekdays, to adults and their guests.

Eligibility:
It is primarily provided to Cache County residents 60 or older.
Service Hours:
M - F 12 noon - 1 pm
Intake Procedure:
Sign up one day in advance by 3 pm. Call for information in business hours.
Fees:
Suggested donation $3.75 for seniors; $ 10.50 for individuals under 60; receipt required from the front desk.

Senior Ride Programs
Description:

Provides safe, efficient, accessible, and courteous transportation to and from the center, doctor appointments, and shopping to those 60 years and older.

Primarily provided to Cache County residents 60 years of age or older.

Call to fill out the application and schedule a ride.

Home Delivered Meals
Description:

A Federal and State cooperative program designed to assist those 60 years and older, who are homebound, have a disability, frail, or at risk condition, and who qualify through an assessment. The program provides hot lunches.

Primarily provided to Cache County residents 60 years of age or older.
Service Hours:
M - F 8:30 am - 4 pm; Meal Delivery 11 am - 1 pm

Medicare Information/Counseling
Description:

Provides information and counseling to sign up for Medicare, compare plans, or make sure older adults have the right health and prescription drug coverage.

Primarily provided to Cache County residents 60 years of age or older.
