Community Action Partnership - Cedar City

Provides services for low-income individuals and families to be more self-sustaining. Services include birth certificate and driver's license fee payment assistance, bus fare, court-ordered community service referral programs, gas money, homeless diversion program, and rental payment and deposit assistance.

Homeless Diversion Programs
Description:

Provides rapid rehousing for those who are currently homeless and meet qualifications.

Eligibility:
For individuals who are homeless. Can be in a homeless shelter and still qualify.

Description:

Provides gas reimbursements for those seeking transportation assistance for employment purposes.

For households under 125% federal poverty limit who are looking for or trying to maintain employment

Rental Deposit Assistance
Description:

Provides one-time rental deposit assistance to those who qualify. The rental (with utilities) cannot exceed 60% of the household income.

Eligibility:
For households under the 125% federal poverty limit. For rental deposits only; does not assist with mortgage payments or a down payment on homes. Household must show sustainability in the rental.

Description:

Court Ordered Community Service Referral Programs
Description:

Provides court-appointed service packets to individuals who have been charged by the court to complete volunteer hours in lieu of a fine or punishment.

Eligibility:
Individuals with court-appointed service hours.
Service Hours:

Intake Procedure:
Call for assistance.
Fees:
$1 for every hour assigned, up to $50. No cost if fee cannot be paid by individual.

Rent Payment Assistance
Description:

A homelessness prevention program that provides rental payment assistance for those at risk of losing their homes.

Eligibility:
Must be at risk of losing housing. For emergency and crisis situations only.
Service Hours:
M - F 9 am - 5 pm
Intake Procedure:
Apply online or call the St. George CAP office to schedule an appointment with a case manager. If a client is not close to the office a visit closer to their location may be made.
