Early Learning Essentials

Federally funded programs to promote school readiness for children and self-sufficiency for families through a child development program for low-income children and children with disabilities.

Description:

Provides support and education to parents on the development of their children. Early Head Start is available in Spanish Fork and Juab County only.

Eligibility:
For pregnant mothers and children birth - 3 years old. Must meet one of the following qualifications: family income at or below federal poverty guidelines; receiving certain forms of public assistance (TANF/FEP or SSI); applying on behalf of a foster child placed in DCFS custody; currently homeless. Mountainland Head Start may also serve a limited number of children with special needs who would not otherwise qualify for services.
Service Hours:
Home visits occur for 90 minutes once a week. Parent enrolls online and can schedule the home visits for whenever the family advocates in the area are available.
Intake Procedure:
Enrollment is accessible on the website. Within application there is an area where the parent can schedule an appointment with the family advocate.
