Clients are educated, encouraged, and empowered to achieve independence. Supported Living Specialists assist with activities of daily living, including maintaining health and safety, helping with personal care services, instructing in homemaking, observing and recording medication usage, and transportation.
Promotes independence in the workplace by offering opportunities to be employed, to work with a community work team, or by being integrated with nondisabled workers within a regular business or industry, completely with the assistance of an employment specialist. An individual program plan is developed for each client to determine which services will be most beneficial and appropriate.
Individuals with developmental and/or physical disabilities learn job skills while working on real contracts, and are paid according to the amount they produce. The development of social and economic skills, attitudes and behaviors utilizing paid work experiences within a controlled environment, are used to promote independence in the workplace and ultimately in the community.
