Lead Safe Housing Program

Salt Lake County administers grant funds from U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to homeowners, renters, and landlords to control or remove lead paint hazards in housing built before 1978. Provides environmental hazards information and lead abatement.

Description:

Provides information and education about lead - what it is, where it is found, the dangers/prevention of lead poisoning, and provides remediation of lead hazards to make a home lead safe.

Eligibility:
Salt Lake County property built before 1978. Pregnant woman or child under 6 years living in or often visiting home. Income at or below 80% of area median income. Property must be properly insured.
