Utah law allows birth parents to anonymously give up custody of their newborn child without facing any legal consequences. Any Utah hospital, open 24 hours, is designated as Safe Haven for newborns to be dropped off safely. DCFS then places the child for immediate adoption.

Newborn can be dropped off at the hospital by the mother or a person acting with the mother's permission.
