Circles is a resource for families who would like to improve their lives by increasing their social capital, improving job skills, and connecting to members of the community. Through training and weekly meetings, participants (called Circle Leaders) build friendships with volunteers (called Allies). Circles equips families and individuals with the relationships, confidence, skills, and knowledge required to be self-reliant. Circles is a long-term program that assists families and individuals in reaching financial stability.
Promotes school readiness for children ages birth to 3 from low-income families by enhancing their cognitive, social, and emotional development. Home visitation program where families receive visits from teachers in their own home. Anyone can apply for the program, and priority is given to families with the highest need.
Computer lab and assistance to create a career portfolio (resume, cover letter, references), as well as training on interview skills, job-search skills, networking, assistance for transportation to interviews, etc. Portfolio and digital copy of resume on thumb drive upon completion of entire course. For those in employment program, assistance may be available in covering registration costs for adult high school completion program.
Offers internships for college students; assisting teachers in the Head Start classroom; building and grounds beautification; Eagle Scout projects; assistance with special events. Limited court-ordered community service opportunities available.
