Prevent Child Abuse Utah - Northern Region

Committed to prevent child abuse in all its forms, through child abuse prevention program, advocacy, home based parenting education, and specialized information and referral. Volunteer opportunities related also available.

Description:

Offers prevention programs to students, faculty, parents, and community members. Parents receive education on how to prevent predation from the internet, recognizing the signs of bullying, or the victim of bullying, and other forms of abuse in children. It also offers programs for educators to receive tools to stop abuse by taking action and reporting it to administrators and law officials.

Description:

In-home visiting program to educate and support parents. A fully trained and nationally certified Parent Educator is assigned to each family and visits at least twice monthly for about an hour. Checks milestones, encourages parent-child interaction with age-appropriate activities, and ensures the family's basic needs are met by referring the family to community resources.

Eligibility:
Low-income, at-risk families with children under the age of 5. Serves families with a range of high needs (including active military, disabled, teen, adoptive, etc.) and offers services from birth to kindergarten entry.
