Includes Evidence-based program models for prevention including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Related volunteer opportunities available, and services offered in Spanish, and via telehealth.

Guiding Good Choices for parents of children in grades 4-8 to strengthen family bonds and reduce the risk factors associated with teenage drug use. Staying Connected with Your Teen for parents of 12-17 year-olds to improve interactions and home and strengthen relationships with their children.

Substance Abuse Treatment Services offers a substance abuse assessment and four levels of treatment, including Day Treatment. Intervention plans may include individual therapy, family therapy, life skills group, support group, recreational therapy group and case management. Available at Salt Lake City and Riverton sites.

Description:

MeTime is a six-week empowerment and education group for youth. Youth learn to practice changing their actions to manage their moods, increase their participation in enjoyable/positive activities, practice changing habitual thought patterns, and prepare to manage future life stressors with confidence. Participants are taught to apply skills in their daily lives through in-session exercises and weekly home practice assignments.

Eligibility:
Youth between ages 13 to 17 who do not currently have depression but who may be at risk of becoming depressed.

ME Time is offered at various schools and locations in Salt Lake County at different times of the day.

After-School Program volunteers teaching and instruct in skills such as piano, guitar, sewing, pottery, sports, art, etc. with children and youth. Opportunities available evenings, weekdays, weekends, on-going or one-time. Open to individuals or groups (2 - 10 people).
