Salt Lake County Youth Services - West Jordan

Services extend throughout the valley and include an office in West Jordan, which is a Juvenile Receiving Center offering substance abuse day treatment, and afterschool programs in Kearns, Magna, West Valley City, and Millcreek. Also offers the Milestone Transitional Living Program which serves young adults aging or aged out of foster care, or who are homeless, that meet criteria for housing options, and educational and employment opportunities. Parenting Skills classes, family, adolescent and substance use counseling, runaway/homeless youth helplines, and alcohol and drug use support groups are also offered.

Parenting Skills Classes
Description:

A 10 week researched based program for parents and their teens. The program teaches parenting skills, teen life skills and offers a chance for parents and teens to come together to practice what they have learned.

Eligibility:
Youth age 9 to 18 and their parents.

M - F 8 am - 8 pm

Family Counseling
Description:

Short and long term individual and family counseling available up to 8 weeks for youth ages 8 to 18 and their families for issues such as depression, anxiety, and assistance with runaway and ungovernable youth. Available at both Salt Lake City and West Jordan locations.

Youth age 8 to 18 and their parents.
Service Hours:
M - F 8 am - 8 pm

Fees:
Short term counseling at no cost; long term counseling available through Medicaid.

Description:

Description:

Substance abuse treatment services offers an assessment and four levels of treatment, including day treatment. Intervention plans may include individual therapy, family therapy, life skills group, support group, recreational therapy group and case management. Available at Salt Lake City and West Jordan sites.
