The organization builds and rehabilitates simple houses for sale at an accessible price point to eligible families. Families contribute to the house via sweat equity programs. Also provides disaster recovery services and home rehabilitation. Always seeking volunteers for a variety of their programs.

Description:

Provides affordable housing to qualifying families in Salt Lake County by providing the opportunity to volunteer 250 hours as sweat equity. Families will contribute sweat equity and then be eligible for purchasing a house with a 0% interest mortgage.

Eligibility:
Us citizens or legal residents who have lived and worked in Salt Lake County for the past 12 months. Individuals must not be current home owners or own any property, and must meet income guidelines listed on website.

Works through the Voluntary Agencies Active in Disaster (VOAD) to help disaster-affected communities organize clean-up efforts, assess impact, and develop a response plan based on needs and available resources. To help low-income families and individuals get back into their homes and work with local partners to identify meaningful volunteer opportunities to assist survivors to rebuild their community.

Eligibility:
Must be a single-family, owner-occupied property built on a foundation in Salt Lake County. Must be a US citizen or legal resident.

5k grant and then low-interest loan for the remainder of costs.
