Description:

Provides one-month rental assistance to individuals and families who are eligible. Program is only available as funding is available. For a limited time, those who qualify for rent and utility payment assistance, may also qualify for water payment assistance.

Eligibility:
Individuals and families who are 125% at or below the federal poverty level. Must have an eviction notice and be able to prove an ability to pay future payments. Renter must provide 24% of rental payment, and the agency will only provide up to $750 in assistance.

Offers individuals and families low interest loans for the rehabilitation or reconstruction of existing home. Also helps homeowners make home improvements, address accessibility issues, replace older housing stock, reduce overcrowding, update plumbing or electric and address any other type of housing concern.

Description:

Provides low-income individuals and families energy conservation programs which will lessen the impact of the high cost of energy on their household budgets and improve household health and safety.

Eligibility:
Individuals must own their home and be on or under 200% of the federal poverty level. Priority is given to the elderly, disabled and households with children under the age of 6.

Total household income is at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Level; the household is responsible for paying home energy costs; the household has at least one adult (18 years of age or older or emancipated); the household contains at least one US citizen or qualified non-citizen (see pages 6-7 of the HEAT Policy Manual).

Intake Procedure:
Applications for households with disabled, elderly (age 60 and over) and young children (under the age of 6) are accepted October 1 - September 30. Applications for the general public are accepted November 1 - September 30. Apply online; print a HEAT application and send it to the local HEAT office; or call the State HEAT Program line. For assistance applying online or emailing HEAT applications, please contact the local HEAT agency for help. If you are in danger of shut-off, you may contact your local HEAT office for crisis assistance.
