Responsible for identifying and eliminating noxious weeds in the county. Also responsible for educating the public about how to identify and control noxious weeds on their own property. Division has identified and classified 25 weeds as noxious.
Maintains the voters' registration system and coordination of the elections held in Summit County. Other responsibilities include the issuance of business and marriage licenses, passports, the recording of commission minutes, ordinances, contracts, and other related documents and the administration of oaths.
Businesses that wish to sell or permit the consumption of alcohol are required to obtain the proper licenses from Summit County and the State of Utah through the DABC. Summit County has laws regarding the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages which comport with State Law and are governed by Ordinance 853.
To get a new passport, apply in person at the County Clerk's Office. May print a passport application to fill and bring along or may obtain and fill out an application at the Clerk's Office.

A business license is required when starting, buying, operating or conducting business within the unincorporated areas of Summit County. Getting a license may take 5-10 business days, but can take up to 30 days, from the date the application is submitted until the approval process is completed.
Supports victims and witnesses of all crime. Provide education, referrals and court support for victims and witnesses as their offender moves through the criminal justice process.
Marriage licenses can be obtained from the County Clerk's Office. Both parties must appear in person with proper identification and proof of age to sign the application. All marriage licenses are valid for ceremonies performed anywhere in the State of Utah within 30 days of issuance. If the license is not used, please return it to the Clerk's Office. Do not destroy it. Refunds or extensions not available.

Coordinates all functions of the public and private sectors to prepare for and respond effectively to natural or man-made emergency conditions. Summit County communities are at seasonal risk of emergency events from wildfires, flooding, severe winter storms, drought, and animal and human health epidemics. With two major interstate highways and a railroad crossing the County, it is also subject to hazardous materials spills. Emergency management conducts detailed risk assessments of those hazards and assists the public and private partners to prepare for and addresses those hazards. This is done through the development and exercise of emergency response and communications plan, policies, and practices. Also provides hands-on CERT training.
