United Way of Northern Utah

Trains and supports approximately 100 AmeriCorps Members responsible for setting up and running tutoring and mentoring programs in over 80 schools around Utah. Members work with administrators, staff, and teachers in schools to determine which children are in need of extra help with reading. Members recruit, train, and supervise volunteer tutors and mentors to work one one-on-one with each student.

As a home visitor with Welcome Baby program volunteer will be trained to make monthly visits to new parents in the community. During visits, home visitors discuss age-specific developmental information and parenting tips. Also provides engaging learning kits that help track your child's developmental progress

The United Partnership Council (UPC) initiative brings community leaders together to address the increasingly concentrated needs of residents of the central area of county. The goal is to ensure all children and youth have access to great schools and strong systems of family and community support that will prepare them to attain an excellent education and successfully transition to college and career.

Provides access to a searchable database listing over 90,000 foundations available to the public for the identification of grant possibilities, many of which do not have a public website. Also offers semi-annual grant-writing workshops, direction in finding other local grant-writing classes and workshops, and critical review of grants prior to submission.

Works to raise funds in the community and in turn, distribute the contributed funds to local nonprofit agencies.

Group learning opportunities with research-based curriculum for kindergarten readiness. Learn with Playgroups is an educational, classroom experience for parents and children, ages 0 to 5 years old. Parents Corner also available for additional information and resources for parents and guardians of small children.

Offers a variety of volunteer opportunities for individuals, groups, and corporations. Volunteer opportunities include tutoring struggling readers in school, providing in-home support, and parenting education to families with new babies and children. Also, it helps provide local area nonprofits with the knowledge, skills, and support to grow.

A visitation program where trained volunteer make monthly visits to new parents in our community. Trained staff or home visitors teach about developmental milestones, parent engagement activities, and positive parenting skills.

A fund for individuals and families affected by local disasters in Northern Utah. The funds collected from community donations goes directly to those in need in Northern Utah without any administrative overhead.

Help people fill out, prepare, and file SNAP and WIC applications and answer program questions.
