Rent Payment Assistance
Eligibility
Assistance is based on program eligibility requirements, available funding, and staff availability to take on new clients. Funds are provided to families or individuals in crisis when the family or individual can demonstrate that a default or arrears (rental) was caused by circumstances beyond the family or individual's control, which significantly affected their ability to pay. There are daily assessments for program eligibility.\n\nThe Siemer Program serves qualifying families with children attending Granite Park Jr. High, Lincoln Elementary (South Salt Lake), Moss Elementary, Woodrow Wilson Elementary, Roosevelt Elementary, or South Salt Lake South Salt Lake Head Start with financial assistance. Families must be in a crisis housing situation (loss of employment and income.)

Description
Empowers individuals, strengthens families, and builds communities through education and self-sufficiency programs. Programs and services include crisis intervention for housing, rent payment assistance and rent deposit assistance, food, weatherization, utility assistance, homeless diversion programs and services, and adult education. Offers coordinated homeless services through the Homeless Resource Line. Provides assistance with the Rent Relief Utah application process. The Siemer Program is a United Way supported Collective Impact housing /case management program which serves qualifying families for children attending promise partnership community schools in South Salt Lake, Midvale, West Valley, and Kearns with financial assistance. There is homeless family outreach available for students enrolled in a school in the Salt Lake City school district.
